Safety on OONITE
Choose what you share
Check-ins are private by default. A public Night Card can show its venue, check-in status and rounded recency. Review visibility before publishing. Avoid sharing private contact details, precise live location or someone else's information in posts and messages.
Contact with care
You can decline Night Hello invitations or use Contact settings → Block contact on a member profile or conversation. While either account is signed in, blocking stops Night Hello, messages, comments, replies and likes between both members and normally hides each member's profile and public community content from the other. Public content may still be visible after signing out. Unblocking does not reopen old conversations.
Report harassment, scams, impersonation or privacy concerns using the report control. Check progress in Settings → Your reports. An account or profile on OONITE is not a guarantee that a person or venue has been verified.
Meeting someone
Choose a public place, tell someone you trust your plan and arrange your own transport. Do not transfer money or share passwords in response to an unfamiliar member's request. Leave if you feel uncomfortable.
Protect your account
Use a unique password. Sign out on shared devices. Browser notification permissions can be changed in your device settings. If you suspect misuse, reset your password and contact open@oonite.com.
Urgent help
OONITE is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or venue staff. Reports on OONITE are not monitored as an emergency response channel.
